This shapely piece of history was estimated by our
museum curators to have been crafted about the turn of the
century...18th century that is. Historically, Turkish pottery such as
this was used for storing olive oil, wine, or other footstuffs. It is
unlikely this piece was used for any long period of time in that
capacity, or it would have not survived from the early 1700s all the
way into the modern age intact.
The stand which provides this lovely example of Turkish pottery with a
protective and stable housing is, of course, a new creation we had
crafted especially for this piece. It is included with the pottery
piece at no additional charge. Looking for a true artifact to grace
your entry? This piece will provide both visual punch and a topic
worthy of years of discussion.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of their extremely heavy weight, and fragile
nature, all of our Grand-Scale urns must be pallet-shipped, and are
subject to additional shipping charges, ranging from $100 to $350. If
you have questions concerning shipping, please don't hesitate to contact
us for a shipping quote.
