Our wooden Bread Basins were used to carry loaves of bread dough to the village hearth for baking. Hand-hewn from solid wood, each basin has a number of square compartments: Small (2-3 compartments); Medium (4-5) and Large (6-8). Years of age and functional use have enhanced the character of the wood, which ranges from a lighter distressed finish to a darker, charcoal-tinged wood tone (see photo). These basins are a perfect addition to your home, and there's no limit to the ways you can use them. They can be used to hold fruit or spices, candles, or even plants. Some of our more creative clients have used them as framing for family pictures, or by themselves, as wall decor with a modernist feel.
