Patchwork kilims are the hottest of design trends right now. In fact,
the new Spago Restaurant in Aspen, CO features a patchwork rug as one
of its major focal points! However, not all patchwork kilims are
created equal.
Our patchwork kilims are made from the finest hand-woven
breadcloth kilims, and sewn together with ample seaming to ensure the
patches will not unravel at the seam lines. Each is then backed with
either felt or a heavyweight canvas backing. While they can obviously
be used on your floor, patchworks are also great as wall art, and are
perfect for hanging in hard-to-fill spaces such as stairwells or tall
walls, such as those in rooms with cathedral ceilings.
Please note: If you choose to use your patchwork kilim as a
rug, we highly recommend purchasing Rug & Relic padding to hold
your kilim in place. While quite durable, patchwork kilims are also
prone to sliding, especially on hardwood floors or tile.
