Patchwork rugs and kilims are the hottest of design trends right now, and are showing up in all the top design magazines. However, buyer beware: not all patchwork rugs are
created equal.
Our patchwork rugs are made from vintage and antique hand-knotted rugs of all types, and sewn together with ample seaming to ensure the
patches will not unravel at the seam lines. Each joining seam is then hand-stitched together, and decoratively trimmed, so all seams are both sturdy and attractive. The rug is then backed with a heavyweight canvas. While they can obviously
be used on your floor, patchwork, with their vibrant and interesting patterns, are also great as wall art, and are
perfect for hanging in hard-to-fill spaces such as stairwells or tall
walls, such as those in rooms with cathedral ceilings.
Please note: If you choose to use your patchwork rug on the floor, we highly recommend purchasing Rug & Relic padding to hold
your rug in place. While quite durable, patchwork rugs are also
prone to sliding, especially on hardwood floors or tile.
