Each of the copper tables offered by Rug and Relic is hand-crafted in Turkey by our artisans, to our designs.  The top is made from solid, hand-hammered sheet copper, which is then finished with a light protective coat of varnish, and laid over a 2” thick piece of pressed wood.  Needless to say, they are heavier than your average table!

Please be aware that copper is a soft metal, and is therefore susceptible to scratches and dings.  For us, this process simply adds patina. You will find that the scratches and other evidence of daily use give your table’s surface the warmth and character of old copper.  If this is not acceptable to you, the patina process is largely preventable by regularly applying paste wax to the table’s surface, which will help to protect the surface.
