Every so often, we run across unique old strainers such as this piece.  What makes us interested in purchasing a particular strainer (we see dozens) are two things:  First is the patina.  Has the tin worn away in an interesting pattern?  Is the hanger still intact?  Our second criteria: holes.  Were the holes punched by a machine, or were they done by hand? Are they random or uniform? 
 
They obviously make great wall art; but if you are lucky enough to have a spot, they also make incredibly cool light covers!
